The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome.

Doing the same thing over and over again and anticipating the same outcome is utter stupidity.

Thus the year ends much as it started:

  • Folders arranged by manufacturer rather than alphabetically
  • Letters featuring multiple fonts in multiple sizes
  • Random capitalisation
  • No punctuation in correspondence (Thank you Binghamton University!)
  • Delete as appropriate template prompts left in outgoing correspondence. (It was even printed in colour where such prompts are in RED!!!!)
  • Sign Here tags left on documents
  • Documents not filed
  • Documents scanned on obscure angles

The list is by no means exhaustive. What rational explanation can there be for the Powers to Be to think that such flawed communication with the client is acceptable? The Powers to Be don’t see this as a problem. No? You think illiterate high school drop out is the image you want to portray for your organisation?

Going into the next year it will be the same. It is professionally embarrassing and depressing. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
